SpeechGal Therapies provides cutting edge speech and language assessments and speech and language services/therapy, as well as specialized academic instruction/tutoring to students. It is our belief that our clients' needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs. We are located in La Mirada, California and provide speech and language therapy to children and adults in the Orange County, Los Angeles, and Riverside areas. We also provide accent modification services to individuals or group sessions for large and small companies.

Mandee Buchheit M.A., CCC-SLP
Owner and Director of Services
Mandee Pulver is a credentialed and nationally licensed (CCC) Speech Language Pathologist and Communication Consultant. She works out of her home office, seven days a week, providing speech
and language therapy for children and adults of all ages!
She has extensive
knowledge and experience in the areas of Autism, Child Language Disorders, Phonology,
Articulation, Cognitive-Communication Disorders, Cleft-Palate, Communicative Improvement (public speaking), Learning Disabilities, Developmental Disabilities, Speech and Language Disorders, Swallowing Disorders, Neurological-Communicative Disorders, Voice and Fluency Disorders. She is licensed by the state
of California, as well as a Certificate of
Clinical Competence. In addition, she is a member of ASHA -
American-Speech-Language- Hearing Association. Mandee obtained her B.A. and Master's degree from California State University Fullerton. She has worked on several research projects in the area of fluency. Mandee has over 10 years experience working in early intervention, with children who
have Autism, Cerebral Palsy, multiple disabilities, etc. Mandee has a strong
background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Pivotal Response Training (PRT), the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) strategies and tools, and behavioral therapy.
Mandee has independently provided consultations,
screenings, assessments, therapy and therapy recommendations for clients from ages six months to 85+.
She has provided services for clients from: private
referrals, home school programs, and school district referrals. Mandee has worked in a variety of
settings including: public schools, clinics, in-home sessions, and private
practice. She enjoys continuing her education and
learning in the field by frequently attending workshops and
seminars to further her knowledge.
Mandee has worked with children and adults as well as has a wide
range of experience in the following areas:

Stacy Johnson M.A., CCC-SLP
Speech Language Pathologist
Stacy Johnson received her B.A. in Communicative Disorders from California State University, Fullerton and her M.S. in Communicative Disorders from University of Redlands. Mrs. Johnson is licensed both with the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and with the state of California. She currently provides speech and language services within the school-based and early intervention home-based settings. She has experience working in a private practice clinic and in acute rehabilitation settings. Her areas of strength include working with children from birth to early teens in articulation/phonology, expressive and receptive language, and Autism. Mrs. Johnson has received informal training in the Hanen It Takes Two to Talk and More than Words programs, as well as instruction in various picture exchange concepts to increase communication skills.
Brenna Thompson, SLPA
Brenna received her undergraduate degree from the University of Redlands, and has been working as a SLPA for the past 3 years. She is currently attending California State University Long Beach to pursue her Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology. Brenna has experience working with students requiring augmentative/alternative communication devices, as well as those with articulation disorders, language disorders, syntax-morphology disorders, and social-communication deficits. Brenna grew up on Catalina Island and loves working in Southern California.
Elizabeth Holmes, SLPA
Elizabeth Holmes graduated from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) in May 2010 with a Master's Degree in History. She also holds her SLPA license and obtained her Post-Bacc in Communicative Disorders from CSULB. Elizabeth has worked with children since 2005 when she did student teaching in Northern California, and as a teacher for the Institute of Reading Development. She is currently attending CSULB and is pursuing her Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
Heather Elam, SLPA
Heather is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communicative Disorders from California State University, Fullerton. Heather is currently pursuing her Master's of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology at NOVA Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She has experience working with students with severe articulation disorders, language deficits, social communication deficits, as well as the adult population.
Jessie Davis, SLPA
Jessie is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist Assistant
and received her B.A. in Communicative Disorders from the University of
Redlands. She has experience working
with children from the ages of 18 months to 15 years through pediatric
rehabilitation outpatient centers. Jessie was raised in Huntington Beach and
loves working with children and their families in Southern California.
Kerissa Schardt, SDC Teacher
Kerissa is a Special Education Teacher, with a Mild/Moderate
Credential. She graduated from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB)
in May 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She is currently pursing her
Master’s Degree in Special Education. She also will obtain her Autism Certificate by the end of April 2013. Since 2009, she has been working part time for a non-profit
organization that serves students with moderate to severe developmental and physical disabilities.
